Beauty Is Skinside Out!

Why would any skincare company use food to nourish the skin let alone solve skin issues? Well, since food fuels our body and feeds our cells (all cells) the nutrition just can't be copied in a lab but can be used naturally to use topically. Safe and natural medicinal foods are gaining significance in the mainstream beauty arena and healthcare system. This blog highlights all the skin-cell goodness nature gives us inside and out! Just berry with me as I use our products as the examples.

Red raspberries are delishhhh. We can all enjoy some fresh raspberries in a spritzer, in a smoothie, or on a bougie charcuterie board, right? Beyond raspberries' great flavor, they also have a ton of skin health benefits. BOOSTS MOISTURE AND HYDRATION and actually protects us!

Here is what the National Institute of Health (NIH) boasts about Raspberry Seed Oil;

Gaining increasing attention by cosmetics industry. It is used as an ingredient in body and face moisturizers because of its high concentrations of Vitamins A and E. These vitamins are essential for the maintenance and repair of skin cells. The oil works by creating a lipid barrier that stops skin from losing natural moisture. Retaining moisture helps to keep skin cells looking young and full. It adds hydration, sun protection and nourishing vitamins both a humectant and emollient, which means it absorbs water and keeps it trapped in. This means seriously hydrated and healthy skin!  So eating your raspberries and wearing them are so good!

*One of the main ingredients in our detoxifying Luxe Raspberry Clay Mask mask is raspberry. We use raspberry oil extracted from the leaf. Continue reading from the NIH for why we handpicked this powerhouse.

(NIH) The primary factors that contribute to premature aging of the skin include UV from the sun, illness, smoking and drinking. Raspberry seed oil is packed with carotenoids—a plant derived source of Vitamins A and E. These compounds are widely used in many anti-aging skin care products to help promote youthful skin [25,42]. Vitamin A is a popular antioxidant and ingredient in anti-aging skincare products because it adds moisture, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and smooths skin texture. Vitamin E is another highly praised antioxidant in the anti-aging industry. It helps to protect cells from oxidative damage and assists with maintaining collagen structure [43]. This ONE ingredient offers so much to our skin and besides wearing it 2-3 times a month eat all the raspberries you can! Learn more about all of Luxe Raspberry Clay Mask ingredients and benefits and why you should be wearing this radiant red mask.

Luxe Eye Gelly Treat contains kojic acid. I eat and wear this ingredient because it comes from one of my favorite foods...

Kojic acid belongs to the group of organic acids. It is obtained during the process of aerobic fermentation from fungi or extraction from mushrooms! Sauté' me up some of these please!!! Kojic acid is known for lightening and is why we have it in our Luxe Eye Gelly Treat. Kojic acid is just a powerful as hydroquinone but much safer and it brightens skin. Using this nightly helps with puffiness thanks to a high dose of vitamin C and accelerates cell turnover from having glycolic acid added to our formula. Don't forget about this beauty-aide nightly to be used after Toptox is fully absorbed.

The next time you see a dandelion and think of it as a weed think again. Dandelions are edible and should be seen as in the salad family. Did you know dandelions are in 97% of our products? It assists with; cell structure protection, inflammation and digestion (just to name a few). The NIH conducted a study finding the the leaf and flower were very powerful

when used topically against UVB rays protecting cells. Now, ingesting this also help protect cells on the inside and is why I drink this tea daily and have it in our skincare products. What you put on your skin is ingested as our stomach and skin talk. Researchers have found that when gut health (or digestive balance) is off, the skin can become irritated. Skin irritations might include breakouts, skin sensitivity, redness, signs of aging, and more. Dandelion is an abundant ingredient used as our "base" for Face It Skin products. This edible treat actually stimulates GHS in our bodies. Glutathione (GHS) is involved in tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body, and in immune system function. Wow!!! Dandelion is used richly in Luxe Potion and Hydra Bomb just to name a couple... Everybody should be wearing dandelion besides adding dandelion to their diet.

Turmeric has many health benefits when eaten but do you know about the skin benefits?

With our NEW spreadable formula Luxe Turmeric Clay Mask is active with oil-absorbing and your skins anti-inflammatory BFF! Turmeric's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties can help prevent acne-causing bacteria and reduce the appearance of blemishes and acne scars. Benefits stem from curcumin, a bioactive component with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Being related to Ginger, experts do agree on the skincare benefits of turmeric in topical applications.

In fact, research indicates that the skin-friendly substances contained in turmeric have been part of Ayurvedic tradition for 4,000 years. This ingredient helps to improve the appearance of skin irregularities like blotchiness, blemishes, dark spots, discolorations, dullness, redness, and unevenness. Because it adds brightness and luster, turmeric is often used at Indian weddings and other rituals to revitalize skin before a big event. Ooh la la! I suggest using this before any event you want to look your best! I am wearing this as a hand mask while typing up this blog. Learn more about Luxe Turmeric Clay Mask.

Acne Elixir is a spicey solution to problem skin and contains a lot of my favorite ingredients. In fact I have rosemary planted all around my house along with lavender. Both of these help inside and out by addressing mood, anti-microbial and regulate oil production by the sebaceous glands, which may help protect the skin from pollution and infections and calms our nervous system. Combining rosemary with lavender creates a natural antiseptic that can help fight harmful bacteria, improve circulation, and increase the skin's natural radiance. Now, partner these leaders with a slow release retinol (from sugar cane) for cell turnover for unclogging pores (bye, blackheads & whiteheads) while accelerating those dark spots left over from acne. Adding salicylic acid (from the willow bark tree) is not only antiaging but oil-balancing/absorbing for deeper set hormonal acne. Even though I have dry skin I keep this in my makeup bag for that occasional breakout for it to cycle through faster! If you have oily skin use as a toner when needed or to unclog pores and cycle through acne faster. Vitamin C helps brighten with thyme and cypress! Learn more about regulating any problem skin here!
