When it comes to skincare, the facial treatment you choose can make all the difference in achieving that radiant glow you’ve always desired. With a plethora of options available, such as dermaplaning, microneedling, chemical peels, and hydro facials, selecting the right facial for your skin can seem like a daunting task. But worry not, because I am here to guide you through the maze of facial treatments to help you make an informed decision that suits your skin type and desired results.
Which one do you choose? Each facial treatment offers unique benefits and effects tailored to different skin types and concerns. Be sure your allergies (if any) or medications won't interfere. But, don't worry we do go over this at your appointment and if a modification to any of these facials are needed we will make it. If your still not sure after reading this blog be sure to choose the one that interests you most and know the treatment can be changed at your appointment to do what's best for you.
Dermaplaning
Why would you choose a dermaplaning facial treatment? Dermaplaning done by a professional exfoliates dead skin cells but removes annoying vellus hairs on our face. Dermaplaning involves using a surgical scalpel (not an over the counter blade) to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz). This treatment leaves your skin smooth and radiant, enhancing the absorption of skincare products. We use our Luxe Serum with the blade to ensure skin does not get dried out supporting skin elasticity. You would want to make this choice if facial hair was so visible it concerns you while wanting to look like you got a complete facial. With this you can add a mild chemical peel after for more anti-aging.
CIT Microneedling or Glass Glow Facial is one of my favorite to give. Microneedling can improve the appearance and texture of skin by stimulating the body to produce collagen. The procedure creates tiny wounds in the skin, which triggers the body's natural wound healing response. The skin heals by knitting the wounds back together with new collagen and elastin, which can lead to a variety of benefits, including: Improved skin tone and texture, reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, enhanced absorption of skincare products (hello Luxe Potion). Microneedling is generally considered safe and doesn't carry the risk of skin discoloration like some other facial rejuvenation procedures. Getting these once a month or a package for multiple treatments close together is recommended. Best suited for addressing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and improving skin texture, recommended for most skin types. By adding 10% Argireline (known as our Toptox) it becomes the Glass Glow Facial.
Chemical Peel or 5-Layer Face It Lift
Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin, revealing smoother and more even-toned skin. They can target various skin concerns, from acne scars to hyperpigmentation. Chemical peels sound scary but remember everything is a chemical but we choose natural non-toxic chemicals in all of our treatments for these benefits:
Treating acne, medium depth peels can help clear active acne and reduce the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The chemical solution removes the outer layer of skin, which is usually replaced with smoother skin that has fewer scars.
Improving uneven skin tone, mild -medium depth chemical peels can brighten skin and address uneven skin tone by exfoliating the skin and renewing it. The new skin can look more even, toned and glassy.
Reducing wrinkles, medium depth peels can help reduce the appearance of light-to-moderate wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful look. The peel does not always cause the outermost layer of skin to crust and peel away. When done slowly in a series you have less downtime but all the great benefits, which encourages the skin to be replenished with a smoother layer.
Minimizing pores, chemical peels can help unclog excess sebum trapped in enlarged pores, which can make the skin look clearer and healthier. This can also help reduce the likelihood of whiteheads and blackheads.
All of our Face It Peels are made with Glycolic, Malic, Salicylic or Lactic acids (AHA's) and here's why...
We stay away from TCA peels as they can cause sun sensitivity, redness, and flaking or shedding that can last for many days. AHA peels are associated with fewer side effects than TCA peels, and clients can continue to go to work and continue life. TCA peels have a rapid response, and can be unpredictable and associated with local reactions and a high relapse rate. AHA peels have a slower onset, are not associated with local irritant reactions, and have a more prolonged response. Our acids are from natural resources like sugar care,
willow bark, milk and fruit.
All our alpha hydroxy acids are completely safe, have adjustable ingredients with amazing results. Our peels are also self-neutralizing and can be worked into any of our other treatments for deeper results. My belief is, the days of the peels that burned and peeled our skin are long over when newer updated peels can give you the same results, slow and steady. Make sense?
Hydra+ Treatment
Hydra+ Treatment is not to be confused with the hydro facial. Our non-invasive treatment cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the skin without using water or watered down ingredients but rather pure serums. This results in clearer, more hydrated, and glowing skin without any discomfort that is performed in 2 steps. We first microdermabrasion the skin using diamond tips (natural mineral) to remove dead cells, lighten pigmentation and smooths skin which also makes a pathway for our pure hyaluronic acid serum, Luxe Potion. Luxe Potion is full of plant-based hyaluronic acid, vitamin C & E, jojoba, geranium, dandelion and green tea. After the exfoliation it plumps and fills cells for fluffy, firm and glowing skin using our hydra-wand. Perfect for all skin types, especially beneficial for hydrating and refreshing the skin without irritation. Tip: add a mild chemical peel or red light to this for more collagen stimulation.
Other popular facials created exclusively at Face It are; the Celluma Light Lift great for acne and rosacea using blue light to reduce inflammation and kill bacteria. The Whole She-bang uses a type of exfoliation but with the red light for collagen stimulation, and lastly (drum roll please) The High Maintenance which is ALL of the facials rolled into one for ultimate collagen stimulation and graceful aging results.
Lifestyle is different for all and the costs of facial treatments can vary depending on factors such as, skincare professional expertise, products used, your daily schedule and the type of facial treatment. Generally, regardless of what you choose look for subscriptions/packages that give you discounted rates for buying a series of treatments upfront. It's important to consider your budget alongside the desired outcomes when choosing a facial treatment. Be sure you are at a place that cares for your results and not just your wallet.
