Dry Summer Sweaty Skin

How is your skin feeling? Dry, sensitive, rough or irritated? Did you know when your body gets overheated or your cortisol rises, you sweat more, so it can cool down. Well, I'm here to blog with you on how to get your skin rehydrated in this heat. Here are some tips to keep your skin freshly hydrated and cool starting with how to address those sweaty body parts.

I am loving this body deodorant from Dove! I use it mainly for my underarms but it's actually for all parts of your body that sweat like behind your knees. It's totally aluminum free, has vitamins and smells great. This will keep you odor and sweat free with a tropical smell. If I had developed a clean beauty deodorant it would be this! We are seeing a lot of people come in our treatment room with rough dry skin which means people are not exfoliating. Do you need to exfoliate in the summer? Yes, you do. A light exfoliation for your body and face are still a necessity. I highly suggest dry brushing your body very lightly before you shower as it removes the dead dander from our bodies. Dead dander is the dust you see in your house like on your tables, window sills and other places. For more information on dry brushing and our other body products click here.

You can tell when you need to exfoliate when skin looks crepe or has criss crosses. Use Glow Mask for your face at least once a week to not only gently exfoliate but nourish because of the added minerals and vitamins like E, in our charcoal mask. Regular exfoliation lends to having healthy skin, so plan on exfoliating 1-2 x a week, including your lips, to keep dead skin from building up and help makeup adhere better. Trust me your skin will be so soft, supple and not irritated. Follow with Hydra Drench Hydrating Mask for extra smooth nourished skin!

Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is essential for maintaining healthy skin. I highly recommend these two top-notch sunscreens that not only provide excellent protection but also offer additional benefits for your skin.

These translucent SPF 50 mineral powder formula blurs imperfections, soothes skin, and moisturizes while ensuring invisible protection for all skin tones. Whether you wear it alone or over makeup, these sweat and water-resistant sunscreens will keep your skin safe. With up to 80 minutes of protection, these broad-spectrum mineral sunscreens are a must-have. I personally prefer the convenience of brush-on sunscreens, and both Color Science and Brush On Block offer fantastic options. While Color Science is backed by the reputable Shiseido company, Brush On Block provides a wide range of sunscreen choices for the body too at a more affordable price. You can easily find both of these amazing sunscreens on Amazon.

Did you know lips don't have pores?

I call the lips "transitional skin" as this is where our outside skin which is dead transitions into our mouth to live tissue. This skin is in a class all by itself and requires special attention.

Don't neglect your lips! They endure a lot, from biting to licking. I personally don't prefer using ChapStick as it simply forms a wax barrier, while lips require actual healing. Since lips don't have pores and absorb products differently, they need a specialized product that provides protection, healing, and immediate relief.

Our Luxe Lips gives instant relief with peppermint and feeds skin hexapeptides.

Unique Lip Response Technology is a synergistic trio of the most effective ingredients from the natural and scientific worlds. A botanical extract, from a species of the cork tree, is combined with two peptides that mimic the principal structural components of the lips. Sunflower Seed Oil is a potent emollient that helps to retain moisture and a healthy softness. Sodium Hyaluronate is a water-binding, plumping agent. Vitamins C & E lock in moisture and provide antioxidant protection. Trust me, having this in your summer-time arsenal does wonders for repairing and soothing lips!

At Face It we have a lot of skin quenching products that skin soaks up for a supple smooth look but don't forget the inside out kind of hydration! Here is a beautiful water drink for all the cells in your body including skins...

Use filtered or non-flavored sparkling water then add .25 or .5 of the Liquid IV packet, then mint, lime, cucumber, raspberries and watermelon for a dressed up drink! Not only are all of these ingredients loaded with H2o but they have nutrients your cells are starving for so drink up our not so boring water!

Now is the perfect time to schedule The Luxe Facial or 5-Layer Face It Lift with Emily or myself to get your skin refreshed!

Stay cool and smooth!
