We do love collagen and fat (for our face)!
What is up with our collagen? Collagen, an essential protein found in the skin, deteriorates mainly as a result of the natural aging process. As we get older, our bodies generate less collagen, resulting in loose and wrinkled skin. Exposure to the sun speeds up this deterioration, as UV radiation activates enzymes that break down collagen fibers, leading to premature aging. Stress also contributes to this process by releasing cortisol, a hormone that can damage collagen. It's important to know about collagen in order to know how to nurture it and how facial fat helps our face.
Why do we need our facial fat? Facial fat is good because it keeps the face "plump" and glowing. Fat plays a crucial role in maintaining a youthful appearance, as it provides volume and support to areas like your temples, lips, and cheeks. It protects sensitive facial muscles from injury and allows muscles to glide more easily during movement. Consequently, losing fat can result in a more sunken appearance in these areas. For those who have lost natural fat because of weight loss or the natural aging process it's very important do get treatments done and eat certain foods to stimulate collagen. But what treatments are right and which ones are just too risky and what foods? Let's explore the best options and the not so best.
Developed just for Face It Estheticians, we do Microneedling using hexapeptides which is a great way to stimulate skin's collagen, refine pores, tighten and even newer pigmentation. It actually works best using additional methods like light devices along with a hydra-wand filled with hyaluronic acid. We offer The High Maintenance Facial that uses ALL of our most popular methods in one facial.
We first Dermaplane to remove all vellus hairs and dead skin cell layers using Luxe Serum. Using a special blend of the best organic oils, Luxe Serum keeps skin soft and supple during this procedure and allow the following steps to work better.
Next using Hydro-wand or Ultrasound to fluff & plump new cells pressing (forcing) Luxe Potion, (plant based hyaluronic acid), into freshly exposed skin. After, we use our Celluma Light device for anti-aging which stimulates collagen production (increases blood circulation) using red light energy. After the red light we Mask this firm skin using Hydra Drench Mask followed with a soothing massage. This step quenches your skin in cacao & wintergreen luxury and is crucial for selfcare! Lastly, we Microneedle using 10% argireline (hexapeptide) solution, known as Botox-like, to relax muscles and lines to firm your skins layers! There really is not much down time with this procedure. You can resume your normal routine almost immediately but since this treatment exfoliates and works on deeper tissue, adhere to 24-48 hours of not doing any of the following; sauna, hot tub, steam, rigorous exercise etc. is suggested. Priced right at $341 it's a game changer for everyone. I recommend several of these a few weeks apart to start and we offer a package that saves money. If this isn't for you we have all sorts of other facials available to you: www.faceitskin.net
A great alternative to filler is PRP (plasma rich platelet) great choice with a high success rate for results.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) facials, also known as vampire facials, are a medical procedure that uses a patient's own blood to rejuvenate the skin. The procedure involves three steps:
Drawing blood from the arm.
Separating platelets from the rest of the blood using a centrifuge.
Injecting the platelets into the face.
PRP facials can help with a variety of skin concerns, including: wrinkles, sagging skin, deep creases, acne scars, sun damage, and skin tone and texture. PRP treatment works by promoting healing on a cellular level, stimulating collagen production, and encouraging new connective tissue growth while smoothing. The full effects of a PRP facial can take a few weeks to months to appear. It's beautiful results and naturally gradual! This procedure is usually around $2,000. I've had great results with regular facials and a PRP treatment! If you need a referral hit me up!
What I suggest staying away from are the newest procedures on the market as there isn't much history data for these and everyone is in such a rush to learn and offer these in clinic. What I am talking about are the latest crazes of ingredients, products and certain laser machines. Here are just 2 of many examples from client reviews on a new laser machine in the market used...
Here's what you should know... Not all laser machines on the market are the same and are developed to have different functions. The person above put this out to consumers and pro's as a warning to all. This lovely brave lady is on a Facebook group called, Facial Damage and Radiofrequency Support Group and I 'm sharing it with you for your education, https://www.facebook.com/groups/942682239849381/
I don't suggest doing laser for sagging skin as it may deplete our much needed facial fat shown below:
If you want laser for sagging skin I recommend seeing someone who has years of experience using the device.
Thank you to these lovely ladies for sharing with us. There are thousands of unhappy results from lasers. I am not trying to scare you but pic on the left shows this beautiful lady who went for an anti-aging treatment and the procedure totally melted away her natural fat and collagen. It actually ended up aging her. By sharing these I am telling you to do your homework...
Get 3 consultations, ask to see before and after's and ask these questions:
How many of these procedures have you done?
Where did you get your training?
What is the success rate for this procedure?
Ask yourself do I absolutely need this procedure? Here is another link for you, where it's all about the latest procedures on the market: https://www.realself.com/procedures This site has everything for you to explore from providers, to pics, ratings and procedures all from real people and professionals. It's probably the most honest site I've seen. Mostly good and some not so good but it let's you decide what's right for you.
To look your best naturally it is crucial to consume nutrients such as Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper and Hyaluronic Acid for support of collagen production, skin elasticity, volume and moisture. H2O is important because your skin only gets about 10% of what you drink! Not only is it about what your skin absorbs but it's about what you eat and the treatments you get (or don't get) that determine skin health. Food is skincare and skincare is self-care. Hmmm.
Here are some examples of foods you should be eating for your skincare....pic credit to @nutritionschool
Food is also all about self-care. OMG, I love skin! While you might be thinking I'm superficial (I welcome this) that is okay because the fact is, the health of our skin is a strong indicator of the health of mind and body. Skin doesn't just cover us but it's connected to every other organ and system in the body and most importantly the brain/central nervous system, digestion, and detoxification systems. During our facials we do a neck, décolleté and face massage that promotes detoxification of unwanted fluids in the lymph system, that gets more blood circulating to stimulate collagen besides getting you relaxed but highly recommended. Not only does your skin look better after a massage but this is why we say a facial every month is crucial. Food, facials and skincare work together.
At the age of 25 is when regular facials should begin (unless there are other needs like acne). I suggest 1-2 times per season as this keeps your skin balanced as you enter your 30's.
This beautiful lady to our left got great results from Emily Dermaplaning to brighten and smooth rough skin.
In our early 30's every other month ensures you are on your ageing gracefully path and heading into 40 monthly is ideal for optimum skin health. Having a skin-ship with your Esthetician is key for consistent results which is best for you while using skincare your skin reacts positive to. This also keeps the Estheticians work on your skin optimal between facials. If you float around from Esthetician to Esthetician your always starting over where it should be progressing forward. Never had a facial? It's never too late and something you won't regret.
