Fun blog here! In this blog I just want to share some healthy to make snacks that are quick and versatile while being healthy enough to feed your skin some essential nutrients for youthful-aging!
I always start my morning off with a great breakfast usually containing eggs. Let's make this breakfast beyond beneficial serving up some fabulous fats for our skin...
Eggs are packed with Vitamin A for cell turnover, brightening and repairing skin. The yolk of the egg contains a high content of Vitamin A, (retinol anyone?) which helps to regulate cell turnover in the skin while the nutrients in the egg whites work to repair and brighten the skin! Have a couple on avocado toast and get more benefits from the avocados. These bad ladies (not boys) contain contain oleic acid, vitamins D and E, and a nutrient called "D-mannoheptulose" that encourage collagen production. Avocados contain monounsaturated fats that help improve skin tone (firm skin) and help sensitive skin and are anti-aging as they also contain carotenoids, which help the skin build stronger structures. I do also call this a snack when I want to eat in-between meals and have just 1 slice of toast.
A lot of our products contain avocado because it's so amazing for our skin. Here are a few to check out: Luxe Eye Gelly Treat known for depuffing eyes, brightening darkness and cell turnover, Luxe Hydra Bomb keeps you hydrated for hours and is both your eye & face cream, and Luxe Luscious Body Cream a luxurious body buttery cream like no other it hydrates and gives skin that instant dry prickly relief.
Almonds, pistachios & walnuts oh my!! There are so many different kinds of nuts to snack on that feed skin. Almonds and walnuts in particular and they taste great roasted! Almonds, walnuts, and pistachios are all nuts that are nourishing for your skin because they contain nutrients that promote healthy skin cells. Almonds contain vitamin E, which helps keep skin hydrated and forms a barrier to protect cell membranes. Almonds also contain protein and monounsaturated fats. Walnuts have omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce inflammation. Walnuts also contain antioxidant polyphenols, which can help prevent cells from being damaged by free radicals. Pistachios contain antioxidants, which can help prevent free radicals from damaging cells. Pistachios also contain biotin, which can nourish hair and its roots.
I love a variety of nuts and in this pic you see many more varieties. Try making rosemary salt to toss and roast a variety of nuts together. Here's my recipe for a delightful filling snack:
First, use your food processor to finely chop about 1 cup of rosemary (- the stems). Add a handful of sea salt and mix them together until you have a fine salt blend. In a bowl, combine the rosemary salt with 2 tablespoon of softened butter and extra virgin olive oil, along with your choice of nuts, in a large bowl and stir well. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Spread the mixture evenly on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. I prefer to make a big batch and keep it in an airtight glass container. These also make wonderful gifts for the holidays.
Ah, popcorn my all time favorite snack. Next time you have a snack attack make popcorn, it has protein and vitamin B! Did you know this vitamin aids in circulation and the flow of nutrients and waste to give skin a healthy glow? In our family, we’ve always enjoyed making popcorn on the stove; it allows everyone to pick their favorite flavors. The kids especially loved the fun of scooping it into their own bags!
Indulge in your popcorn while doing some self-care for your skin with Hydra Drench, enriched with vitamin B to hydrate and boost collagen production. Here’s a delightful recipe for a flavor-packed experience: mix together approximately half a teaspoon each of paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and either sea salt or a salt-free alternative. Who knew self-care could be good in so many ways.
